Using Technology to Stay Ahead?
Hi,
I have only just signed up but have been reading these forums a while.
I was wondering if anyone has embraced technology to assist in marketing property?
I have started posting Facebook pages for some of my properties and have seen great response!
Also, got myself a shiny new iPad (crazy if you dont have one!) and got a couple of apps for Realtors. One which I am really loving is called Property Register (gotta have it as an agent and only 9.99). The look on the client's faces as I use my iPad to gather details is great. definitely adds that professional touch!
any other technologies you guys are making use of?
Pete

Using Tech to stay ahead.
I think you are wise to adjust to the buy tendencies of your clients- More folks are social networking and seem to be influenced by friends as oppose to going direct.
I find FB coupled with free videos a wise method for selling properties.
For example How tips for buying a home sets the expectatons at the beginning thus making the sells process easier.
Happy selling.

Facebook and Twitter have been of great help in promoting my business. Almost everyone's on there so businesses can easily reach the target audience.
I like that iPad app you were talking about in your post! I might (or probably will) get one as well..."It is a comfortable feeling to know that you stand on your own ground. Land is about the only thing that can't fly away." (A. Trollope)

I recently just started using facebook, twitter and linkedin as a means of marketing. I also use craigslist and other free listing sites. I just added the icons under my email signature linking my accounts so people can view my pages easily. I'm hoping to see followers soon. If nothing else, it'll help get traffic back to my personal website I think. I also use a website that I load all my listings on and it helps me create a personal website for each listing. Sellers love to see this. It is also very easy to put my information from the website out to each of the networking sites. I love that it tracks the clicks of tours and hits to the postings. We'll see what the future holds...

There are so many different ways to use technology to improve your business that it is really up to you to figure out what works best for yourself and your business. I think having an online presence is almost a necessity for nearly any business these days, and in our industry especially. If you just browse the forums some you should get a lot of different ideas on ways to leverage technology to make your business more digital age friendly.

What about creating an app for iphone or android phones? Anyone have success with that, and how do you go about promoting it?

We all are basically using technology for business. Networking online, using social media to generate business and reach out to consumers, building websites and blogs to generate leads - all are technology dependent, aren't they?
