Anyone Used Equator to recieve REO leads?
Hello All,
I am not looking for comments about BPO leads, short sale processing, or anything else here... Thanks,
I had a client ask about the effectiveness of getting leads from Equator for REO's. They are wondering about becoming certified. It costs a bit of money to do. I have never become certified with Equator, although I have used them for BPO leads, and short sale processing. I also would be interested in knowing if anyone has noticed an effect from expanding your zip code base.
Has anyone ever gotten an REO lead from Equator?
Has anyone done the Equator Certification?
What were the results?

Short answer, yes, it produces leads. Long answer, you have to be patient as it could be quite some time before you start getting enough listings to make it worth your while. Like most things in real estate marketing, patience and consistency are key to being successful.

Thanks Maui
Thanks Maui. Can you tell me what people are waiting for? As I have understood the site you put your name in the listings and when lenders are looking for an agent they look at the list. How does it start giving more listings over time?
Also do you know anyone, or have you personally paid for their "certification" to get listed higher?

The only one profiting will be Equator - SAVE YOUR MONEY!
Had a very interesting call wtih Equator and they refused to give any statistics regarding how many REO listings agents who purchase the $499 "certification" actually get. All they say is "results may vary" blah, blah, blah. If results for agents were good, then Equator would proudly tell the world those statistics. If it actually helped realtors get listings, Equator would say, "85% of platinum certified REO agents get a listing in the first month" or something like that. Do the research. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!

I never did the certification, but did do 10 months of five different zips and never got anything. I would be willing to pay the $499 for the certification if I could get listings from it. I talked to a couple of people that have got listings from there, they said it took a while before they got there first listings. Maybe I did not give it long enough. I would be intersted to know the specifics also. How long before you got you first listing? Do you have to get the certification? Is there a lot more paperwork and work in general, etc.?

If they are not advertising with confident that you will get a lead in a time frame for that 400$ certification then probably don't go for it,invest that amount in some other useful means.

Is there a way to do this that is not paid? Equator.com charges you to join & buy zipcodes. Will BPO work and patience lead to listings?

You can also try reoprep they are similar to equator but seem to be much cheaper and easy to work with.
