I agree. No amount of biz cards given away will generate good leads, unless those biz cards are given away to people in the market for real estate.

Even then - it is better to get the contact information than give it out. If you get their info first - you can then send them a thank you note and your business card. At that point you are reinforcing your professionalism and make an additional "touch" and that's what it's all about.

    All the best,

That is great advice. Seems like a very low percentage of people contact you when you give them your card and nothing else. There is no incentive for them to contact you. The best form of contact is you contacting them with some important information on something that directly involves the market they are in.

Both are relatively inexpensive and easy to do.
How much money should it take when investing?

But does all that professionalism even payoff if they're still not "in the market".

Sometimes it all seems like timing to me.

Great question - yes! It still will pay off - even when they are not in the market. Think about this - now you can send them your marketing campaigns and the average person knows 7-9 people who are making a move each year. Also - the average family/home owner makes a move every 5 years.

    This helps in 2 way:

    1) You are the first in the door - stats show whomever is first wins (and keeps in contact) the conversion game for a majority of the time.

    2) They now have the opportunity to give your information to anyone they speak with (7-9 each year) who are making a move... referrals!

    I hope this helps!
