Marketing on Facebook
One of the things Realtors can do is to create a Facebook Fan Page on the cheap. If you don't own a website, you can always refer people to your facebook fan page. You also have to remember that you have to be where people are. These days Social media is the way to market your properties and facebook plays a big role in this.
I've created a facebook fan page for my Real Estate team.
You can visit by clicking on the following links:
http://www.facebook.com/pages/Miami-...am/18482868235 -- This is my Real Estate Team's fan page. I've just created it.
Here's another one I've created to provide useful information to potential clients looking to buy in the Area.
http://www.facebook.com/MiamiBeachLiving -- I pay more attention to this Fan Page.
Feel free to become fans!!!

Has anybody here created fan pages for individual communities that you farm? If so what kind of information do you post to keep discussion/information flowing?

Facebook and Business
I just wanted to share a couple of thoughts about setting up a presence on Facebook (either a Group, Fan Page or Application):
- TARGET MARKET: Before you do ANYTHING, make sure you've defined your target market in a detailed fashion: who exactly are you targeting? Get explicit about who you are selling to.
- KEYWORD RESEARCH: Keywords are what search engines use to deliver relevant content to users. Utilize some of the FREE keyword tools out on the internet that RELATE to your TARGET MARKET. If your TARGET MARKET is Senior Housing, you want to research keywords that relate to that market and get search traffic (see links below to assist).
- KEYWORD UTILIZATION: The keywords that you determine to be the best should be in the content of your Group, Fan or Application Page. NOT overused, but included.
- GIVE, GIVE, GIVE: The point of this page is to deliver USEFUL CONTENT to your audience around the KEYWORDs that you determined from your TARGET MARKET. Make sure to post at least a few times a week and research what you are posting. I see many pages out there that get set up, but never deliver anything but a sales pitch as their only post. Why would I want to join a group or page like that? Put yourself in the shoes of your TARGET MARKET...What do THEY want?
- PATIENCE: Rome wasn't built in a day, and while Facebook has the power to move things along more quickly, you have to create a following which TAKES HARD WORK in the beginning which will become less and less over time, but you have to commit to sticking with it for at least year or you shouldn't expect good results.
A couple of resources (both FREE and PAID and by full disclosure: I've used all of them, but have nothing to gain by sharing them) to help you in your quest:

Facebook really helps a lot in marketing your own site, just need to gain fans just like followers on Twitter. I think, Fan Page is a great way to show your business services to different people that might be possible clients. Good job on your Fan Page.
