Default Rate your top 10 lead generating practices.

I though this might be interesting. The goal is to rate in order the top 10 fashions in which you obtain leads. My list of course is simply heopothetical since I don't have much experience yet. If you don't want to list 10 maybe try 5. Another may be to list which one created the highest margin of clients.

    (I.E.)

    1. Referal
    2. Cold Calling
    3. Advertising
    4. Farming
    5. etc

well I'm a Loan Officer and mine would go as follows

    1. Referrals
    2. talking to anyone and everyone, I tend to get business just by talking with people and asking them for it.
    3. marketing/advertising
    4. The web, Much like Thesa I think over some time this will turn into my #2 source behind referrals.
    5. buying leads/cold calling

I'm new enough that I don't really get referrals, so....the RE/MAX leadstreet program is my number one source- then advertising- then the web (PPC included).

Not to hi-jack my own thread but can you explain RE/MAX's leadstreet program?

Well, you may have noticed that RE/MAX advertises on TV...a lot. The TV advertisements drive traffic to the RE/MAX website. The website has a MLS search function which potential buyers can use to search for property. It gives them the opportunity to request more information on any given property, and then when they do, it distributes the leads to RE/MAX agents who are signed up for that area. All we have to do is follow up and close the deal. Easy money. It's pretty progressive actually.

Not sure if you can share this over the internet or not but what's your Broker/Agent split? How many leads do you think you get from the system?

I'm pretty sure it's not confidential. I get a 95/5 split from my broker. Of course, it's RE/MAX, so there are fees. It's a trade off that I don't mind making.

    1 - Web Leads
    2 - Referrals

After that it doens't even matter.
WebNewsForUs.com was started to help real estate agents grow their business. Nothing for sale, just opinions from a Chicago real estate agent. Comments and topic ideas are always welcome.

    Default 75% Look online first

so if you don't have a good lead capture on the internet, you're missing out in my opinion. With gas prices continuing to rise, I think the trend will just get bigger.

Web, Print, signs in that order.
