There are really a lot of ways to advertise your rental properties. You can either advertise locally or you can go worldwide by promoting it online. That way, online searchers might be able to find your rental properties in areas where they are planning to move.

Great tips men, i just found it very useful. "For rent" sign are very useful for houses and properties. Especially for those who wants to move at the same area, its easier for them look for it. But I think the power of internet is the most effective of all. It's a lot easier and more convenient to look for properties. Considering flyers, its costly and you can't find the specific prospect with this way.

If your rental properties are in a major metropolitan area, I've found that craigslist dot com is hands down the best place to advertise...and it's free!

I'm biased to Craigslist because of my business and the results that I have seen people get but another option you might want to try is direct mailing higher end apartments. Hit the crowd of people who have more income and convince them to stop wasting money on an apartment.
Think outside the box. Don't do what everyone else is doing. Come up with creative ways to stand out. Try anything once to test it. Throw up an ad/brochure display at a starbucks or your dentist's office. Push the envelope a little.

- The first and easiest way to market your rental home is the time tested "For Rent" sign.
- The second most effective marketing effort is to distribute the rental details flyer to all the free community bulleting boards in the vicinity.
- The third most effective way to market your rental is by offering other tenants, friends and associated a referral commission if they refer a new tenant.
- The fourth most effective way to market your rental is “classified ads on newspapers”. They can be more expensive if you go to the larger newspapers in most cities.
- The fifth most effective way to market your rental is “online ads”. Online ads can be effective when people relocate from outside the area of the rental.
