Picking your niche!
Hello all!
Latest post from Web4Realty.com:
One of the most effective advantages a real estate agent can acquire, is picking a niche. If you specialize in a particular category of real estate, you will surely stand out from the crowd. Think about it - if you try and get exposure from something like "Toronto Real Estate", you will be stuck in the middle of thousands of other agents. Toronto is a huge area, with a number of different communities and towns. Without a niche, you are making it nearly impossible to get noticed.
Now, if you change your market to "Luxury Condo Real Estate Toronto", you are drastically narrowing down the search. This makes you much easier to find, and allows you to get leads who know exactly what they want. In essence, if you are able to focus on a particular niche in the market, you will benefit in three main ways:
- You will stand apart from the thousands of other real estate agents in your community
- You will be perceived as a specialist in your particular niche
- You will likely attract prospects who are interested in your particular niche, which will make your sales cycle a lot easier.

I totally agree. Although, being #1 in google for "toronto real estate" isn't so bad either
I would recommend going after the "niche" keywords or low hanging fruit WHILE you build towards ranking for the high traffic, less specific keywords. But thats just me. I won't rest easy until I rank #1 for ALL the terms related to my area, *insert evil laugh here*.

Picking the right keyword for your site is really significant so that you can increase the visibility of your site in organic search results.

Niches - another buzzword and excellent advice. I have been carefully considering a niche specific site, Specialists are always in demand; generalists, not so much!
