Free storage/moving?
Hi everyone.
I am an agent from Louisiana and have a question for other agents here.
A lot of people here have amassed a collection of "stuff" that hinders perspective buyers from seeing the potential. I recently let a listing stick their extra stuff in my garage after a few months on the market, and within a few weeks we had an offer. I am not sure if this was the cause, but the house did look a lot more spacious.
This brought me to the idea of possibly offering to pay the storage fee for sellers to declutter. Most will say they don't need three couches, but hate to get rid of one of them. I checked into "pods" and was shocked that I can have one delivered to their house for them to load, picked up, stored for up to a year and then dropped off at the new home for under $220.
I am thinking of using this to my advantage and saying something about providing free storage/moving. Is this a good idea? I also though of contacting the company directly to see if they would give me a discount if I used their service X times a year.
