Relevant Valid Back links

I understand search engines aren't interested if another site simply lists my URL. But a useful, embedded anchored text link would be a big help.
For example, if I am looking to rank high in say the search term "Philadelphia condos", I would want those two words anchored, and linked back to a specific page on my website. And I would want that term to appear on another site's page that is indexed by say Google. The idea is to NOT try to get one over on the search engines, rather enrich my site (and vice versa) if a relevant point can be made.

Can anyone agree, or disagree? And if so, any one interested in talking more about a valid link swap?

You know it can be useful, as part of your SEO jigsaw to include your URL by itself without anchor text in addition to your keyphrase anchor text. This is another way to help spiders find the relevant URL you wish to optimise.

Relevancy is always a key factor for seo.
Search engines like Google always consider the relevancy.So this is always very advantageous to get relevant links from other websites.

I agree. Having a lot of non-relevant links doesn`t help much. Better concentrate on high quality related links.

Have a link with the anchor text "Philadelphia condos" on a site related to either philadelphia, condos or real estate would be the best. But even unrelated site help some.

As far as Google concerns then, the links should be relevant to your site as to your business. as, it gives preference to those back links that represents your business coz getting back links is the biggest reward for a web site in terms of SEO.

There are lot of SEO processes that implemented for good quality back links and better traffic.

If you want to rank high for "Philadelphia condos" keyword, you need to get more inbound links with this keyword as anchor text.Make sure you are getting from a relevant site.

Yeah its always beneficial to get valid backlinks from other sites.
The links should be relevant with your sites,then become an added value.
Another thing,getting the backlink from high pr sites ia also very good.

Yes besides all the basic tips in SEO, (keyword density, title, description metatags, 250-500 words content, h1-h6 html tags with the proper keywords), the backlinks anchored with the desired keywords are a must
