Adwords can be a dangerous beast if you have never worked with it before, especially in the real estate market. I have used it for some time with good success, but that was only after taking the time to learn how everything works and a lot of testing.
If you plan on trying it, expect to lose money at the beginning. That's what happened to me. Just remember to test and track your results and make changes accordingly.
Before you start with it though, I strongly recommend you spend a good deal of time learning the in's and out's of it and how everything works. If you don't, you could risk losing a ton (and I do mean, a ton) of money as so many people have already done.Stay on top of everything that is going on in your local real estate market with http://www.estateanalytics.com, a free real estate news source that allows you to get news from virtually all publications by state in one area.

If you are going to use PPC, you MUST get a very good training program that shows you how to get the most out of it for the least amount of money. PM me for a couple of those programs.
I have used it on and off for the last 5 years for my main real estate site, and almost monthly for my real estate school site. I also am using it for several other programs I have online.

Pay Per Click
We used pay per click extensively for a variety of keywords even though a google search of those same key words put us on the 1st page of google usually in the 1st or 2nd position. We now are relying only on the generic search and have not used pay per click for a couple of years.
I think I'd suggest taking you pay per click dollars and spend them on creating just an outstanding web site backed up with a blog full of rich content.

Real estate terms can be very competitive and cost a lot to bid on. I would suggest going after niche longtail and local keywords and make sure you have a very good landing page and website and monitor your ppc campaigns carefully to keep bids as low as possible and conversions high.

if used correctly, then its advantageous..problem is, most folks don't use it correctly. Targeting regional and tracking your conversions, testing, and understanding what campaign works best for you. Most agents don't have time to do it IMO.

Pay Per Click
We used it for years & have decided to rely only on our generic standings. I think if you blog consistently using a variety of key words that are unique to you & your area that it's time / money better spent.
