Call a few realtors in your area and ask them where they would advertise.
Tell them you are interested in possibly listing your home with them but you want to know where they would advertise it other than the ML. Do you have it listed on the ML? If not you may consider having a Realtor list it on the ML for you. Not having your home on the ML is a big mistake in my honest opinion.

I advertise all my properties on Postlets.com. Although you should seriously consider listing with an agent to reach all of your general audience, placing on postlets will get you multiple postings on many different websites.

Realtor
OK I will be the "Realtor" in the room here

At least here in Minnesota, we still have a large supply of homes for sale on the MLS. We have over 26,000 active listings for sale right now.
Without a high powered marketing approach from a real estate agent, the likelihood of FSBOs selling in our market has dropped dramatically.
More than ever, in this turbulent real estate market, the value of a good real estate agent is seen clearly.
He or she is also able to guide the seller to a successful closing.
I will gently step off my soap box now

I have to agree with minnesota-mls somewhat. I would not use the word agent but Realtor since there is a difference. But the thought is the same, you say tomato...
This market demands using the right Realtor. No matter what some agent haters may say, it is the cold hard truth. The right Realtor will make it seem easy as pie. This has lead to the misconception that Realtors do not deserve the money they earn.Mark Brian Silver Star Real Estate

Advertise Properties Online
I do agree that its smart to use a Realtor, I think that if your property is in a high traffic area and you could through a sign in the ground and list on a site like www.shortsign.com and you could get get a buyer quickly.
I think its a good idea to talk to a couple Realtors in person about your needs and they will be happy to help out.
As far as Realtors not deserving what they get, that is nonsense, we provide a service just as a business needs sales reps.Last edited by Chief Tutor; 05-05-2009 at 09:28 AM. Reason: Put URL in Signature
