I own beach front property in Latvia from our family inheritance.
My contacts in Latvia told me that many Russians and Latvians are buying properties in Spain because it is cheaper than building and buying on Latvia's coast and it is just a short plane trip away. So I would also gather that it is quite the hot spot for real estate today.
I also read an article in Forbes on the richest people in the world and one of them was a young man from Spain who made his money developing land in Spain.
If you want to live there, great, than that's a great place.
If you want to invest because it is hot there in the market, well, I would be careful because usually by the time everyone else hears about it, it's too late.
