Smile Las Vegas or Chicago? Any opinions?

    Hi Everyone,

We are a young couple that currently owns a home in Austin. We are strongly considering purchasing an investment property that we can rent out. The two cities we are currently leaning towards are Chicago and Las Vegas. Since many of you probably have extensive investment experience which we lack, we would really appreciate any advice that you may have regarding this decision and these two cities. Do you think that one is a better investment than the other and why? What is the best way to ensure positive cash flow? Thank you!!

you know...I'm not sure if I'd be the best person to ask since I'm not that familiar with either cities but I'd probably say Vegas. It just seems that if you find a good house you could rent it out as a vacation home on a weekly basis. You'd have to be careful since you'd most likely be renting it to younger people there to party but it would be better than staying at a hotel (in my opinion)

    Hi JenKev,
I'm an investor from Chicago. I will tell you Chicago-ish. What I mean is that within the city limits of Chicago - true positive cashflow is difficult. However, I deal in property within a half hour drive of Chicago that has great returns. Don't limit yourself to a major city when a short drive just outside that city yields much bigger returns. Drop me a line. I'd be happy to talk about it.
