How to buy a very nice house

Here is a scenario: Two people are retired and each one is living in a one bedroom apartment. Each one has about $50K in the bank with about $1500 coming in monthly from retirement. Now if either or both of these people buy a house it will more than likely be a crap house in a crap neighborhood. Now if these two people get together write up a complex agreement and have it notarized and looked at by a attorney and they put their money together, they can buy a house 3 time as good in a nice neighborhood and have companionship on top of that. Believe it or not this could work so why aren't more people doing it. In my case I don't know anyone but would be willing to meet someone and rent a house together for 6 months and if we get alone then presto we can buy and live in a really nice house. So now you can start telling me all the things that are wrong with this scenario?

Buying a house is a major milestone in life, one that a lot of people are proud of especially when you know you bought your house for a great deal & at this age is very difficult..

I've bought and sold several homes so I'm in a good position to explain how to buy a house to first-time home buyers. I'm not a realtor, and I'm not trying to sell you anything.
