The recent Forbes report proved that many of the world’s wealthiest individuals made money from real estate investing.

I agree with the idea as investments in real estate has proved to be one of the most stable, although sometimes the situation can be rather hard. But why not to invest some extra money in a beautiful mansion somewhere near the ocean or the sea?

As with anything, I think this greatly depends on the market...

I don't know if I'd call the situation in Scottsdale "stable."

I think so, especially if you are interested in investment property. Once example that I would like to mention is a 4-plex that I sold this month. It sold for $320,000 and it generates an annual gross income of 40,000. This is a gross rent multiplier of 8! A few years ago, this property would have sold for a gross rent multiplier of 12 to 14. Real estate in Portland, especially investment property has taken a huge hit, but now it a great time to buy and hold.
