Definately. Ejido land is community property. You can lease it, but you can be kicked off at any time! Any real estate transaction in Mexico should be handled by a notario. It is his job to make sure the title is clear, not ejido land, and that all the proper paperwork is filed.

The weather is lovely, but ... . A recent Mexican real-estate seminar by Canada2Mexico Consulting provided an opportunity to investigate the dream and the reality and this is very important when dealing with ejidos. Most people reading this article have grown up in a society based on democratic capitalism in which the individual and not the community determines what he or she is going to do.
1 Ejido land cannot be sold to non-ejido members until it is converted into private property.
2 There are exceptions where non-ejido members can acquire

Could you circumvent ownership by owning a Maxican company that will own the property?
Foreigners have a hard time to access ownership in the US now (comparing to before Bush era) but I could own an LLC which owns real estate. It's way tougher to establish an LLC in the US than anywhere in the world now, but I assume that with the Obama administration, the US will open the doors to business again...
