    Default a free real estate web site

    My name is Paul Bumgardner. My partners and I have started a free service as an alternative to the high-priced multiple listing services currently available to real estate agents. We have created a service with no monthly fees, and where all agents can list as many homes, properties, and business listings as they want free of charge. We have also set up a link where you can post all of your own listings on your own website similar to what most web companies charge a premium for. In addition, we are working on a number of other features to help real estate agents promote and grow their business both online and off.

    We're just a small group of guys hoping to create something useful for real estate agents and maybe make a few dollars from online advertisers. We don't want to make our money off the small businessperson like yourself. It's you we hope to serve.

    We're giving free upgrades to anybody who links to us. You can get more info at multilistus dot com

    Thank you for your time and let me know if you have any questions, comments, and critiques. We are open to your suggestions!

    I hope you are successful with your endeavor! Have you been able to attract traffic to your site? I know that there are many similar services that have issues with spreading the word and getting listings. Have you experienced any problems with populating your site?

    Default Update as to how we are doing.

    [FONT='Verdana','sans-serif']To answer a post:
    We have been live now for a few weeks and things are moving along well. We have over two hundred listings at this time and many hundreds of agents have logged in and updated their information. We seem to be getting lots of traffic so far although I don’t have the exact numbers at this time.

    We are grateful for the response. We sent out our original invitations to the agents through email. We sent out over 50,000 emails personally (though we automated the process a little). The next stage is going to be search engine submission and paper marketing.

    We hope that this all turns out to be something that is a blessing for everyone.

    Please feel free to look over multilistus dot com and let us know what you all think.

    I know you want to earn revenue off of online advertisers, but another model to think about is offering the ability to remove ads from an agents listings if they want them removed. I know I would pay for that as an upgrade to the free service. Free is good and all, but adds that are geared to take away customers are never a good thing, IMHO.

    Default Thanks for the input

    I appreciate the advice on avoiding leading users away from our site. We have another approach as well; we are going to provide communication tools and mailer tools for agents to be able to run their business from our site with very small fees.

    We figure we are working with a very large target audience and can afford to aim for a few dollars per month for a subscription for added features. We have developed instant text at our multilistus dot com site already and initially all our features will be free with the notice that this will become one of our pay for features later.

    Our hope is to develop advertising that is related to what our users need only. The Google ads are on the bottom for now as we have no other advertisers yet.
