Well, it could mean that your site did not pass their guidelines.

We don't accept all sites, so please don't take it personally should your site not be accepted. Our goal is to make the directory as useful as possible for our users, not to have the directory include all (or even most) of the sites that could possibly be listed or serve as a promotional tool for the entities listed.
    You can read more here:

Submitting a Site to The Open Directory Project

Don't worry if you don't get listed in the open directory project as it don't mean that you wouldn't get good rankings without this listing.

I always find DMOZ to be a bit of a double edged sword. Sure a listing may help with website visibility but have you ever tried to get a listing updated!! I have now stopped adding to the directory due to this very problem, info can become outdated and impossible to update.

    Default Hiring an SEO Company

Could an SEO professional has a better chance of getting accepted by DMOZ than a regular website owner. I have seen few companies claiming that the can get on DMOZ for a fee.

DMOZ takes ages to get listed in, or never get listed in for that matter!

Don't resubmit as it will just go to the back of the queue again, as said above ... make sure your listing abides by the submission guidelines. Also, the editors are quite funny about people continuously barking on at them as they volunteer to do this for free, they don't have a time scale on how often they edit their categories, some don't do it for months!

I would do it once and properly then simply forget about it, as I myself have wasted too much time on this directory and never got any websites listed. Good luck either way.

A company only sees the same guidelines as an individual does, there is no secret formula for being accepted.
None of these companies can guarantee that their submission on your behalf will succeed, so what will you actually be getting for the money?
