Is a real estate directory better?
Is a real estate directory better in the eyes of google than a general directory with a real estate section?

Anything goes perfect with Google till it plays fair with G.
But I suggest you to start specific topic not general:
Reasons -
1) Pretty difficult to manage general topic
2) Easy way to promote niche specific site, and less money to invest
There are more point...not able to remember now. But definitely share someday.
That's what I feel. Now its upto you.
Thanks

I think both are good if managed properly. A link from dmoz or mygreencorner will always be good than a spammy real estate directory that gives free links to all. Thoughts?

It is always better to have links on sites in the same nche so submitting your real estate site in a real estate directory will be better.

Real estate directory includes real estate classifieds and helps you find your local real estate agents and real estate brokers easily because you are instantly directed to your own niche.
