Flyers??
I am new to the real estate business and I know it is a bad timing and market is pretty bad right now. I don't have a listing at the moment since I had just received my license about a month ago or less. My question is, is it a good idea to make flyers instead of my listing it's a little bit about me and my business as in an introduction to the new business with my contact information and web address?

Create an online flyer about your business (also called a website) and market your website aggressively. You will get a lot of business that way. Some real estate agents are still using print ads, but a lot of home buyers are now online.

I agree about the buyers being online, but I think you can still do traditional marketing. However, I know your ROI for online advertising will be much much higher and you reach way more people.

First of all, welcome to the Real Estate Industry! I think, starting out, you need to have a hard-hitting and contact oriented marketing campaign. With regard to that, flyers are a huge asset to have, and I would hit the streets to networking and find business in your local market.
Buyers and Sellers are online looking for information, but unless you have a huge internet presence you are not going to get those leads. Just my opinion with that.
Create local relationships, create social networking relationships, and really work hard to network and make a reputation as a hard worker.Andy Scherer <*> Loan Officer Training <*> Connecticut Mortgage Specialist <*> Real Estate Networking

It's so easy to have a listing these days, as buyer's market. But it's not where the money is. The money is in the buyer's pocket.
Ask questions to your broker, ask for training, ask for concrete answers, which are rare since lots of agent won't really tell...
Train one-on-one, that's best...

I wouldn't have flyer's at any of my listings. If they want information they can call me. That way even if they don't buy my house they can still buy a house that I help them find.

Fliers are a nice alternative to advertise and they are still being used. I use fliers in the local market, as they help in creating an awareness among the locals, however I also use the Internet to advertise.

I used flyers for a long time. I put a lot of time and money into them with very little results. So what was I lacking? A website! Flyers can be very useful, but use them to drive people to your website. These days people do not want to call an agent when they know that they can go online for the same information. Create a website that is easy to use and use all other forms of marketing to drive people to your site, it will work! Good Luck!

Since you are new to the business and basically have no performance stats, advertise yourself using your company as your stats (assuming that you are with a company that has stats), and also try to find a team to get on as I think this will be the best for you for support, and leads. I wish that when I started I joined a team...but I did it the hard way.
Good luck

Welcome to the business! I believe you need to be well rounded. Fliers, yes, website, yes, blogging (okay, I have even gotten on this bandwagon).
Do you have a farm? Your friends and family should promote you as well - give them business cards. Walk your neighborhood, wear your badge, company logo shirt and talk to everyone. Your flier should have your name, company name, website address, and create a stat box with neighborhood sales info. Talk about that, not so much yourself.
Good luck!Search the Tampa Florida Real Estate MLS
