    Default refer-a-friend scheme

I'd like to start a new referral scheme with some incentive for my existing clients.

Does anyone use this method for marketing? What do you normally offer as an incentive?

Is there a letter/email you use?

    I'd appreciate your feedback.

Here in the US, in most states anyway, it is illegal to offer any incentive to a non licensed person. Hence you don't see many people doing what you are talking about.

You cant send them a letter that says, "If you do this... I will give you this.." but you can send them a letter that says, here is a gift certificate to the movies, enjoy it with your family. PS - A referral from a friend or family is the best compliment I can receive"

First off you may want to re-think the term scheme.

Thanks for all the invaluable feedback.

Please note that I am based in UK and I am not aware of any limitations in people referring any new leads.

The "scheme" is a word I used here. Of course, I am not planning to use it elsewhere

Thanks again, really appreciate your comments.

good morning (afternoon there) JW -

see my comment on "agents online" which suggests you simply call this "social networking" and you buy the "coffee and crumpets" when your old friend introduces you to your new friend - remamber thos folks with a special gift at christmas time and your PR quotient goes up ^

Be careful with this, the fact you are calling it a scheme right off the bat is not going to fly well. Plus you can't legally pay people who are not licensed.
Good idea you will just have to think of a better way to launch the program.

Agents keep 100% of the commission - $445 per sale
or keep 100% of the commission - $50 for $350 a month. You choose.
