Default How's the Market in your area?

I'm in Vancouver BC. The market is doing pretty good right now. Multiple offer situations are not uncommon.

    Default Vancouver Market

Just heard that from another real estate agent in Vancouver that the market is starting to realy pick up. He said certain parts of the area are doing rather well. In Seattle the market is still in recovery mode. I do hear both sides but the majority of agents that I talk to say the Seattle market is slow. Days on market are getting longer and prices are still dropping.

In the Seattle times last Wednesday May 6th a report came out that home sales jumped in King county 25%. Higher price homes remain sluggish.

Minnesota is seeing a TON of buyers coming alive in the Spring 2009.

We have been experiencing a little "bump" in sales prices and multiple offers, and getting close to 5 homes for every buyer.

Maybe not the end of the housing crisis, but encouraging signs nonetheless.

Vancouver BC has definitely weathered the downturn well. Yes our prices are down from last year. But houses are moving quite well. If something is well priced, and in an affordable price range, the house will sell in 2 weeks easily. Of course we're right in the middle of the Spring Market. We should slow down around the end of June.

The Lexington and Nicholasville, KY markets seem to be rebounding a little. Now that isn't based on numbers, it is just what seems to be happening. I am getting many more showings and listings than this time last year. Now we are a college town so that may influence things a little as we haven't been impacted like some other areas. I think the first time homebuyer thing is helping out dramatically.

Hi, of course all of the reporting here is anecdotal. As Agents, we kind of get a feel for the market. The number of phone calls, the type of phone calls, etc. So it's just a rough survey.

Here in Vancouver we tend to get busy in Spring with sales volume dropping off around mid to late June.

So far so good. This listing inventory is starting to build a bit, but if it's priced right, it's guaranteed gone.

So that's a good sign. There's nothing worse than being scared that the market will freefall as it has in some places in the U.S.

    Anyhow fellow Realtors, good luck!

    Default Orlando lower end homes

have been moving quickly in the last 90 days. I hope this is the start of stabilizing the market and building confidence back!

    Real Estate is way oversold!

Things have been picking up significantly around here in Portland. We have also seen the majority of the bank owned and short sale properties clear out of the system. Still many in there, just not nearly as much as before. Here is to hoping that we have a great spring and summer.

As sure as I made my post earlier I look at stats and we were down 30% here in Lexington, KY from last year to this year for the first quarter. We were also down 6% in sales price for that time as well. That was the first quarter and a lot of the activity seemed to pick up in March and April. The effects probably won't be seen until May or June.

The numbers seem to contradict the general Realtor sentiment around here though. Hmmmm.

Stats are stats. History. Things seem a lot better now than Jan/Feb that's for sure.

Oh well, whether they're good or bad, keep the reports coming.
