All the super affiliates online who make millions use PPC to promote products whether its membership sites, ebooks or for list building, but its hard to learn PPC so you may want to pay some one to do it for you.

yes it works, but need you to choose the right keywords and your content should be rich on it. Actually it is an art

PPC works, it can be expensive though.

It's a lot more trackable than a billboard. It's hard to measure the true effectiveness of a billboard.

It is but you should be sure how much you intend to spend and keep a tab on it. re-evaluate the strategy after results

I am about to begin a new PCP campaign with Adwords. In the past I have found PCP to be a extremely useful tool to get targeted leads. Now once you get get the contact info it is up to you to get the sale. So, don't assume PCP will do all the work for you. It is simply a way to get contact information.
