What would you rather purchase... clicks or leads?
I know that many of you are already involved in Pay-Per-Click. I'm not as interested in what keywords people are bidding on, or whether they are in Google or Bing or what have you... but whether or not they skip the bidding process altogether and just buy their leads flat out.
I know there are alot of white glove lead services out there where you just pony up a bunch of cash and they dump a ton of leads in your lap. Has anybody used a service like this and if so, what kind of return on your investment did you get?
If you've used BOTH, which did you prefer... PPC or White Glove Leads?

Just to follow up on this post... My company offers a Lead service that is a bit different than traditional Pay-Per-Click. Instead of buying clicks, you pay for Leads instead.

Clicks are more important than leads.

The number of quality leads you get from the clicks can vary depending on the size of your local market, the number of competing agents already dominating in google adwords, bing, etc.
I think that there is a market for Agents who prefer not to inundate themselves with the trial and error of managing a Pay-Per-Click campaign and would prefer to focus on the leads themselves.

Considering that you want any click to turn into a lead, this would make sense.
But how can you be sure a lead is actually a good one? If I have to pay extra for a farmed lead that never converts, I'd rather take the PPC.

By forcing registration, you create the impression that your listings are worth something. We've been employing "teaser" registration where we let a user view the first few listings before we prompt them to register to continue viewing. It's more organic than asking them up front, and quite often they supply you with real data as opposed to John Doe leads.
I'm not saying that you won't get a fair share of crappy leads, but by and far the overwhelming majority should be real data and much warmer leads. Certainly at a much higher volume than not doing a paid campaign at all.
