seo is for long term organic search and ppc is for short term traffic that usually doesn't get a returning visit. If you want long term success optimize you site so that it gets high Pr and organic rankings.

I just attended a real estate conference in November of last year with some of the best agents in North America and it was recommended that PPC be utilized and was working for many persons - just my two cents.

Costs of a PPC campaign can be reduced dramatically, making intelligent use of so called Negative Keywords.
Defining these negative keywords you can exclude type of searches and avoid unnecessary clicks on your Ads.

For example if you don't have properties in a certain area or town you can define this area as a negative keyword. Your Ad won't show up than if somebody searches for this particular area.

I think all the correct answers have been given already.

The only thing I'd like to add is that if you're targeting keywords on the radar screen of multimillion dollar behemoths, then it’s fair to say that you’re unlikely to ever beat their huge SEO team of experts. But with SEM (pay per click advertising) you can go toe to toe with them with clever techniques.

PPC can be effective, but is dangerous. It is essentially buying traffic, so pay attention to your bounce rate.

If your landing pages aren't in line with your keywords and your ad copy, you won't get the right traffic and you'll waste your money.

Make sure you check your Google Analytics to see your bounce rate.

Organic SEO is harder to achieve traffic generation through, but typically the traffic can be more effective and provide greater ROI.

    Hi,

I'm an SEO specialist and I know how it works- and yes it takes a few months- now PPC is instant- so if you want to instantly sell a brand new product or service- I recommend it--
BUT- get a PPC specialist to do it for you - -
PPC is not as easy as it seems-- and GOOGLE does take advantage of amateur PPC users-- oh yes, you will be looking at a $500 + bill in 3 months of using PPC with no results.
Google will claim you had hits- - but - anyway if you are gonna do PPC, hire a PPC specialist!

A PPC specialist can be a good solution, but make sure you are heavily involved yourself. Knoweone else other than yourself knows better the clients, target groups and which specific language and words they are using for maneuvering in Real Estate world.
So don't leave it to a specialist only; use him (her) to coach you and to avoid surprises in outcome and the Google-invoice.

Seo means long term results and PPC means instant results but long term results are not guaranteed in here. O the choice is yours; you can go for either Seo OR PPC depending upon your requirements.

Pay per click definitely works but over time it can be EXPENSIVE! This gets you results now and done right you can minimize the expense but either way, over the long term you are going to pay quite a bit.

SEO takes time and effort and really very little money. It just depends if you are willing to wait a few months for results.
