Talking Hello, Just finished my online exam and have a few questions.

Hey everyone and thanks in advance for your help. I just finished my online realestate course for Oklahoma. I was wondering if there is a certain time period that i have to go take my exam before my course expires? Second question is should I find a broker to sponsor me before I take the exam or after? And if anyone has any pointers before I go take the exam please let me know. Thanks

Not sure about the laws in your state, but I think my courses lasted forever?

This is going to be state specific, but I would take it ASAP. That way you don't lose any info you learned in the course. I don't see any great prize in waiting to take the exam.

    Default The sooner

the better because of the difficult questions. It is a state by state issue because I think in Florida there is a time limit.

We also have weekend courses to prepare you if you delay it a bit.

With so many Realtors leaving the business, I ust wanted to know why you would want to be a Realtor?

Also you can start looking for a broker but until you pass the exam it is not required.

    Default Go for it

I see a lot of people asking "why would you get your real estate license right now?"

It is possible to make a great living as a Realtor, even in this market. It is urgent to have a good business plan in place, good advertising and lead follow up, and good systems to ensure you do your job correctly. I'm glad to hear you are getting into the business. Good Luck!

Amen! It's interesting that many forget that real estate is a cyclical business. Many of the top producers in the industry today have been working in the biz for many, many years - through several ups and downs. The down cycle doesn't scare them - it just makes them get back to basics...instead of those who jumped in when the market was hot and deals were practically being thrown at you.

Congratulations on your decision to enter an exciting and ever changing industry. In Tennessee, my home state, the classes are good for one calendar year in relation to sitting for the state exam.

If I can ever help you, let me know.
