    Default Need Help!

I am very interested in becoming an agent in a high end market such as Malibu,La,Aspen,Beverly hills etc... However I am trying to figure out if it is possible for someone with little connections to the area to excel. I would also like any info on how best to find out information about how to get started and how to get clients.

    Thank you in advance,

    Sms

I'm not quite sure why you started a new thread when you have this same question posted just a few threads down. But anyway...your best bet is to 1) move to the location, 2) start meeting people while working towards your sales license, 3) frequent the places where you would meet/network with the kinds of people you want to rub elbows with, have as clients, etc.
You may also be able to find someone in the business who wants to be a mentor, or who needs a trainee.

Desire is 90% of what makes people succeed in this business, the ability to adapt to people and your circumstances is the other 10%. Mike Ferry is local trainer. check out one of his seminars. not saying i agree with him, but go and meet all the people who are big producers there.

I'm going to have to agree with BeyondThePen on this one. Real Estate sales is a highly localized business that is more about who you know that what you know. Which brings me to the point that SmsEstates made about Mike Ferry who doesn't know anything "worked in the business less that 2 years back in the 70's). He will however blow hot air and charge you for his "coaching".

My advice is to 1) Find an old time agent that had been in your market of interest for 30+ years and work along side him/her. 2) Find a Brokerage that supplies you leads in your area of interest and offer to hold other agent's listings open in the same area (even if they are not with your office/Brokerage.

    Hope this helps!
