    Default Client Centric Approach

I recently read an article on AgentGenius.com about a Realtor who shifted her attitude from agent centric to customer centric.

Her results seem to have been worth the work, what do you think? Who comes first - you, or your clients?

    Default Clients Come First

Your clients always come first... A lot of agents make the big mistake of speaking all about themselves during a listing presentation. What do you think happens if you, as the home seller, interview 5 agents and 4 of them talk about their big company, their awards, their previous successes, their sales numbers, etc. and 1 comes in all ears and actually listens to what your concerns are, addresses each of them patiently and fully, showing you that they know their business well, and tells you what they would do to get your home sold by being considerate of your needs, timeframe, and sensitive to your thoughts and opinions? Who would you give your listing to?

If you always focus on your clients and how you can help them best insted of looking at everyone as a commission check, you'll earn more money, be more comfortable with yourself and your clients, and they will be more comfortable with you and spread the word...

    Default Marketing to Clients

Thanks Angela, I totally agree! I also read the article you are referring to and it sounds like it's all about marketing yourself to your clients the "new age" way vs. the "old school" way. One important thing to remember is that you can email your clients all day long, but the most effective way is to pick up the phone and CALL!! No postcard will do you justice as will a phone call just to say "HI!"

Just curious, do you all still put your agent photo on your business card, property flyer and website??? Not trying to stir the pot, but if you do, couldn't that be construed as "agent-centric."

I have heard a lot of consultants lately advocating taking our agent headshots out of all our marketing. After all, it's not about us, it's about our clients and their needs.

I will admit that I'm torn with the idea. I see their point but... With the severe competition in today's market, how important is my face on my branding? I worry that people won't remember me (or something) if they aren't reminded of what I look like. Does my photo make me look like a "family man" or a "high-power broker"? Should my face be there or not?

I would love to get more opinion on that from this group.
