Average Realtor Salary?
I want to know what is the average salary of a realtor in this dead market?
Can you make money and what are the best markets to target?

$12K/year average.
$1K/years for about 90% of Agent and $65K/year for the 10% remaining...

Just had this conversation with a friend.
Remember way back when you were in high school. Well maybe not so long ago for some of you.
You took that pesky test and met with your guidance counselor about what career path you wanted to entertain. I think "dishwasher" was my path of least resistance.
Well, Doctors made $150,000+, Lawyers made $100,000+, Managers made a whopping $50,000, and way way down at the bottom was Real Estate agents somewhere at $20,000 or less. I think clerks at the grocery store made more.
Well, like any career, you get out, what you put in. The top performers make more than 90% of all below them.
Even Attorneys and Doctors fall in this scenario. There are Doctors making $100k yr. and others making millions.
Unfortunately in Real Estate, it's more like some agents making $10,000 yr, and others making Millions.
Don't treat your career like a hobby. If you are a Realtor, be one EVERY day, and be proud. Heck, somebody has to sell all the inventory on the market.

In some cases people just aren't cut out for the job, the rest are just lazy. The good news is for the ones that are cut out for it and have a strong work ethic the sky's the limit.

If you are looking for a "salary" you probably don't want to bother becoming a real estate agent. We work on commissions. Nobody pays us to drive people around.

Well your first problem might be with the word salary ;-)!! Since everything is on commision you wont know for quite a while what you can expect monthly until you have established yourself after quite a few years.
The first 6 months of my career I only made $8,000. That was because I got too caught up in prospecting and didnt know anyone in the city (had just moved here, etc). Since then I have made $40,000 in 3 months but that is down to hard work, I think this business is what you put into it honestly.
