should i get my license?
Ive just completed college and i am very interested in the real estate market. I have joined an investors group in my area. I also have taken a 3,000 dollar seminar on short sales. ive been shadowing around a franchise owner from homevestors. I have been told by many people that i dont need a license, but others ahve said that i do.
I am specializing in short sales and foreclosures. Basically my question is, should i get my license and do i need my license? i understand that it is too my advantage when talking to the lender as a realtor rather than as a buyer when looking to keep the price of the home down when doing short sales. Any advice on where to go for my license, how much it cost, and the best way to go about studying for it? Thanks everyone. i appreciate your help.Last edited by Chief Tutor; 10-12-2007 at 05:51 PM. Why not get license?
I have my broker license and have been waiting for this market to buy my investments. I didnt need a license to be an investor, but it has been a very informative experience. I like going to school though, and am always learning when I can, plus this will open up your sphere of influence.

A license will get you access to the MLS and with that you get access to new listings, solds, pendings, expireds, and canceled listings. It may be worth your while. Plus you get to keep the buyers agent commision.

Nah, I'm sure they don't own it. But being hired as a "SEO expert" falls in the same ball park right? :P
Cause, you are an expert to create a bogus account - and then ask a leading question with it. Then log in another bogus account, and provide just the answer.
Thats tricky and takes a lot of skill.

That's not something you want to share publicly.
Either the Realtor organization in your area or one of the bigger companies (Coldwell, Remax, etc) should have classes. It will probably be a few hundred bucks for that.
Once you pass that you take the state exam.
Then you'll have to sign on with a broker and join the MLS.
Be ready to pay alot of fees to get started.
