Default How to become licensed broker?

Are there online courses to get certified or do I have to go to local classes?

Each state has their own requirements, but most require you to be a licensed agent for 2-3 years before you can take the courses (and test) to become a broker. I know some states allow online courses. You need to check with your local or state Realtor Association for the specifics.

Personally, I'm not a fan of online classes for real estate. Classroom discussion usually covers more "real life" topics and scenarios that you just won't get out of your books or online studies. Not only that, but you will develop valuable contacts that will benefit you for years to come.

In Florida, for example, you have to be licensed as Sales Associate for 5 years and working at least 24 months during this 5 years period.
