Greetings;
I am in maryland just passed the exam may/7/2007 and affilate on 5/31/07.
i would like to know just where did your first transaction come from ,was it your soi or prospecting,walkin or any other way that might come to mind.
I am ready to go but my soi probadly will not kick in or start generating possible sales until later on .right now i have a possible sale from word of mouth. I look forward to your responses and i just love this site.

I'd say 9 times out of 10 your initial transactions will come from your SOI. The more people you know the better, and make sure and tell EVERYONE you know that are in the real estate business now. They can't call you if they don't know!

It will come from your SOI for sure. If it doesn't than that just means you may not have done an adequate job of letting them know you were in the business.

My first loan was my big brother...haha. my 2nd loan was my parents? Now I'm doing their loans for no charge when they do something. What goes around comes around
it'll most likely be someone closer to you, they know you the best and know that you are new and need some help.
People in general like to help. So ask for HELP "Will you help me?" simple and effective.

My first sale came from floortime! I was scared to death!
A successful real estate career is made up of many modes of generating leads. Whatever you chose to do, do it consistently. If you mail out postcards, send them consistently to the same people on a schedule. If you run ads in magazines, do it every month. If you have an email database, email them on a consistent schedule. Sit down and send out expired letters every single day. You wont see immediate results from any of this, so don't get discouraged. Just keep on doing it, and one day, the phone will start to ring!
