Will I get swarmed?
Hopefully I spelled swarmed right.
I was told that when I pass my state test I will get swarmed with mail and phone calls from offices trying to recruit me.
#1 Is this true?
#2 Why is there so much need for agents? It just seems theres so many already.
Thanks, and ftr I think getting swarmed is a good thing. Much better then having to go and look for a position thats hard to get in.

#1: Maybe. Depends on your area, but in many areas I can definately see it happening.
#2: Many brokers see more agents = more money. Especially since most of the costs are carried by each agent (ie. you pay your own dues, don't get paid hourly, etc.)
It's not necessarily a good thing. You have to remember, you need to interview them and see what each office has to offer you. It's rare in my experienc that a broker would turn away any new agent that wants to join their office. So it matters far more what is in it for you. It's not like a normal job at all. Don't jump at the first offer, interview several. Be prepared and ask lots of questions.
The list here is a starting place for things to consider: http://www.busybrealty.net/index.php...id=40&Itemid=0
(It's a bit talored to my local, but you should get the idea)

you will definitely get calls and people trying to get in touch. I don't think you'll get swarmed though. Yes, people will try to recruit you. its the nature of the business. Heck I'm a recruiter for my company in Oregon (Mortgage brokerage) and even companies try to recruit me to come to work for them...its kind of ironic in a way.

You will likely get some mail and maybe some phone calls.
There are plenty of agents already but everyone is looking for great agents. With this being a commission only business, it doesn't cost the house anything to bring you on. So, they try to bring as many as they can on, hoping that a few will work out. It is a numbers game.Factory direct promotional items for the real estate industry. www.realestatepromos.net
