    Default Contact Manager System

First post, yay! I was curious as to what contact manager systems most of you are using? I didn't find much in a search and what I did find was from a good while back so today, now, what's the need to have software? Looking for something that I can input clients B-days, their children's B-days, anniversaries etc.

    Thanks for any help!

Most folks in my area use Top Producer. It will help a lot but don't under estimate the amount of input time required to make the system perform as you expect.

    Good luck!

    Default Contact Management

There are quite a few choices out there for real estate contact and prospect management. The more time you put into research on the front end the better, as changing at a later date can be painful. My first suggestion would be to NOT use the one offered by your MLS system. Though you may want to use it for automated listing notifications if it does them, putting your eggs into a basket you don't control is risky. A change in MLS system providers is possible and out of your control. You'll find yourself learning a new system you didn't want in the first place.

If you have a relatively new (say 2003) version of full Outlook (not Express) in your computer, it can be tailored into a very full-featured system without paying for add-ons. Before you start that process, you might want to think about some features/fields to build into it.

Ask around to other top agents within your office and ask them what they use. Usually they will be quick to tell you thier lessons learned and what they would do if they were starting over from scratch.

    Good luck!
