Question Using my car to Advertise

Hi All, I've been reading through this site the last few months, and very happy I came across it!! I'm brand new just passed last Saturday, signed with Remax, quit my job, liquidated my 401k (yeah I know) and scared like crazy. I have a question about advertising, spending the money to have the back of my car wrapped with company logo, name, balloon, name and number, has this been a good investment for others. Thanks in advance, and any help getting started would be much appreciated.

I don't have it going on mine but this is just a personal preference. One client that you get from it will pay for the expense. Can't hurt. The real question is what if you are not happy with your choice to go with Re-Max. Keep this in mind on the wrap. Put Re-Max somewhere where it could easily be "edited" if needed in the future.

well...you can also alter all your clothes to become neon flashing signs too.

personally, I would spend my advertising dollars in other areas, such as print advertising, internet presence, pay others to do door hangings, etc.

Give it some time before you decide to ad "flavor" to your car.

The classier you are the better the clientelle you'll attrach. Just my personal taste.

    Good luck!

Yes, go for it, it will prove to be the most cost effective advertising you can do. My wife hates mine, but when it makes you $30,000 a year alone, I get paid to look tacky.

Thanks for the input, think I'll go for it. Also I've been reading through the site and I like the recipe card mailing program, couldn't I purchase a kit like that at a Best Buy type place and do the printing myself, my broker will pay for the mailing?

I'm not to sure about "wrapping your bumper". Does that mean that the whole back half of your car is a Re-max balloon? I'f you were to do it, I wouldn't go so extreme. I would just do a large "classy" magnet on your door or somthing like that. It also depends if you have a nice car or not.

    Cool

Yeah, you definitely want to consider the type of car you drive before jumping into it... In real estate, your car is often a measure of your success, like it or not, and when you advertise your business on your backside... You're saying "Look world, this is what I do, and this is what I can drive because of it!"

(I'm not saying that's always the best measure of success, but it's qute true) so if you have a nice SUV, or a new-looking Mercedes or truck for example, go for it! ...might wanna hold off if you're still driving the 1996 Honda Accord, or a shiny new Kia Spectra or something like that.

As for the door magnet -- just my humble opinion, but I don't think I've ever seen a 'classy' door magnet. They just seem to say "I can't commit to this business enough to wrap my car with an ad," or "I can't afford to do more, but here's a magnet to show you who's driving this car." The exception to this may be if you have a *really* nice car that basically broadcasts your success in business; but even then, you've gotta find just the right type of magnet/sticker for it. As I said, just my two cents.

Thanks for all the advice, I don't drive a GMC Gremlin, yeah I wouldn't want to advertise on something like that I drive a Lexus, so I think I'm safe. I also think it will end up paying for itself a few times over. I'm only having the rear of the car done, and the spec's are very tastefull, again thanks for all your input folks.

I think part of a back window tastefully done is fine. Its when people do the WRAPS that look tacky to me. My opinion only. They definately get my attention.
