Default Any good "Training" type of books??

Ima newly licensed agent, not signed on yet. I've read Gary Keller's million dollar agent book, it was great, but is still a bit "far off from now" type of book. I'm gonna start real estate for dummies and I dont know how it is yet.

I'm looking for something that will kinda walk me through things I need to do and know from basics of marketing to basics of whats expected of the agen, all the way to closing, things I'll encounter and problems and what I need to do. For instance do all of you guys research the title/deed for liens, everytime? Do you try to find them insurance? Do you go to closings, what do you do for closings,..... etc? What are some examples of services you might do for the client( a brief list would be nice!) The classes around here are designed to keep you legal, but I still dont know squat about the business! I want to be visualizing and thinking about things before I get with a broker.I know nothing beats experience but I dont want to waste my or a clients time or patience. I make 55 a year in my full time job and I'm terrified of dropping below 30 with no benefits!

Can anyone help me out. DVD or links are welcome as well!

I read that book too and really liked it. I skipped some of the beginning b//c it was repititive and not really infromative. I just about to give up hope when it got into the nitty-gritty. I understand what you're saying when you say it's "far off" and I thought that way too. However, I'm going to go back through the gritty part and put into place his plan just dialed down 10 notches. You know what I mean? Just start using his ideas on a small scale.

I'm now reading the "rainmaker" books. Currently, the e-rainmaker. They seem pretty good so far.

    Best of luck!

    Default Real Estate Sales Books

A very good book for lead generation and sales is Make Millions Selling Real Estate by Jim Remley. His strategies are very easy to implement and there are no gimics.

I've read a whole bunch of books, including Gary Keller's book. This is my favorite. The book covers basic marketing strategies that are easy to use and won't cost a fortune.

    Default Books for New Agent

You're going to cover a lot of ground with marketing and procedural books for real estate. When doing a search with the term "real estate" on a popular book site you get 109 pages of books.

Sometimes it helps to relate books more closely to topics of interest. I've got some free online new agent planning and marketing articles, and they have "Suggested Reading" links on some of them that point to related print content.

Articles for new agents are here and here. Suggested reading links are at the bottom of articles if applicable. You don't have to go broke buying books, as some of the real gems are less than $20 in a price comparison site.
