Default Under 18, can I start taking classes yet?

    Hello,

I'm currently a 17-year-old college student who is looking to enter the real estate world. I was wondering if it was possible to take Real Estate Principles (REAL100) as a 17-year-old then take my test at 18. I know I would have to take two other courses within 18 months.

    Thank you

The best answer you can get will come from the California real estate commission. They issue the licenses and set the procedures.

I assume you are in California... You can take the classes at any age, but they must still be valid when you go to take your exam. According to the Department of Real Estate, California, you must be 18 to be issued a license not to take the classes.

Way to go getting started in real estate at an early age. I'm sure you will receive all the success you deserve. You may want to check with your individual State regarding specific real estate laws.

Thank you all for the replies and the support. After reading a bit more into the California regulations, I found out that you can be enrolled in Real Estate Principles and take your test at the same time. In order to start as soon as possible, I plan on taking my first real estate class next semester at my college, a few months before my 18th birthday.

    Good luck to you all
