Default Regarding out of state commission for Commercial property

If someone represent a buyer that is out of the state where they are licensed, can they secure commission without running into problems?

    Thanks

It depends on state licensing laws but generally the answer would be no. You have to have a license to get paid for preform real estate duties.

Thank you for your response Greg. I am talking about a CA licensed broker wanting to represent a buyer in AZ. If straight commission doesn't work how about referring the client to a broker licensed in the state the buyer is in and asking for your comm in the form of a referral fee instead?

A licensed agent can always get a referral fee from another licensed agent. I doubt you can find someone to give you the whole commission though.
