When do you hire a personal assistant?
I am wondering when you should consider hiring a personal assistant to look after you. Do you get one sooner than later or wait until you have a consistent flow of business?

one thing a full time assistant will require is salary. If your business is not yet that steady, you will have a difficult time maintaining the salary flow for him or her. For now just hire a part time assistant that you can pay everytime you need the extra help.

Virtual Outsourcing Help
Thanks for the suggestion OClife about virtual assistants. I don't really know how to use one in my business but I found a course on them for real estate agents.
Looks like what you are talking about here at http://www.realestateoutsourcing101.comLast edited by jstark; 04-15-2011 at 08:49 AM.

yes you can take help of virtual assistant they charge you per hour, it will help you more and its beneficial as you have unstable business right now. You can hire a personal assistant when you have stable business, but virtual assistance is very beneficial for you as its advance these days.

If the business is doing fairly and the tasks that you usually do seem to be difficult to meet as your schedule becomes really hectic, perhaps you should think now of hiring an assistant to lessen the load and become more efficient in doing your tasks.

The laws and regs
As a tip but not something that's likely to go wrong.... You should read up on your local associations rules and state/local laws about what a personal assistant can do for you. For instance, a personal assistant here can not answer certain questions about real estate even if they have access to the info from you. Its just a matter of insuring your license is protected.
Congratulations on hiring your assistant. I'm sure things will go very well for you. Just didn't see anyone point this out and its important.
Best,
John
