Cool Where to Go after getting RE Lic & Is now the right time to get it?

    Hi All ,

sorry if this question has been asked prior. But i am based in CA and i am thinking of getting my CA RE lic. I would have to start part time as i have a full time banking job.
I am confused on where to start once i have the lic, do i just walk into realtor offices asking for a job or has anyone used online sites such as zipreality.com? If so are the online sites easier to do since i'd have not experience? Also is now the right time to think of a lic in CA or is the state completely flooded and finding work would just be impossible?

Obviously, everyone here thinks Real Estate is the thing. It's a Real Estate forum, and this is the section for new agents.

You might not get an impartial answer here.

    But good luck.

Since you are/will be new to the industry, your best bet will be to find a more experienced realtor, group, or company, that can teach you the ins and outs of the business and help show you the ropes.

    Default Help from Missouri

I can be impartial because I'm in a completely different state than you, so here's my two cents. As a new agent, you do want to locate a known agency that offers mentorship and training. You also want to find an agency that will allow you to work part-time with full-time expectations in a few months. The most important thing is to find an office that will not have you paying office fees. Find one that will let you work commission only and which provides you with access to the office and its supplies while you build your knowledge and clientele. I would never direct anyone to an office that charges you for office space as a new agent. After all, you are in the beginning stages and it would be rediculous to pay office fees when you are starting off.

    Hope this helps.

The above are correct find a larger brokerage which offers training and no monthly fees.

I think now is a great time to get a license, primarily because so many realtors are leaving the feild. This will lessen the competition and in a few years we will be in a good place.
