    Default Real Estate License

I am about to be flipping houses with my mother. We plan on selling our current house to buy a smaller house fix it up and sell it. We want to basically continue flipping houses until we can settle down. I wanted to know if I should get a real estate license for this. I heard you could get like 1% on transactions or something and getting a license isn't that hard. I wanted to know what I could do with that license (I am a California resident).

Hi.. If you really want to continue with real estate business then you have to take license before you start your business..

To get license you have to complete a training course for it and then you will have to pass real estate state exam which held state by state. Once you get your license then you have to work as a real estate agent for some time and then you can start your business as a real estate broker...

Often, community colleges offer real estate license courses. In many states, such programs can be completed by taking classes just a few hours per week, for three months or less. This low-level time commitment can be advantageous to an individual seeking a real estate license while working in another field or pursuing other interests.

    Default Real estate license

I would recommend getting your license. However, just because you get your license doesn't mean you know anything about real estate. The best way to get educated and learn the business is to work under someone for a good 6 months to a year who does a lot of transactions.

If the house you plan on buying is listed by a realtor at 6% commission and you had a real estate license and represented yourself then you would get the 3% buyers agent commission. Plus having a real estate license will give you knowledge in what you can or cannot legally do and you will also get a better idea of what people look for in a house. So definitley get a real estate license if you plan on doing any business that is real estate related.

This is the best pick go for it..don't commit yourself too much on this training as the field experience is important than academics.Get a mentor, that will be my suggestion.

Default Flipping houses or Licensed Real Estate professional

If your interest is in Flipping houses until you make the income you project then you do not need a Real Estate License. However, if your interest is or includes working in the Real Estate Industry for Commission, then you must obtain a license. Taking the course and passing the state exam must be done before you can confront finding a good Broker who has a great training and mentor program so you can work towards acquiring success as a licensed Real Estate Agent.

I suggest you get as much experience and contacts as you can in your current work right now. If you feel that you have enough experience in dealing with people and more importantly enough contact to sustain your practice, then get your License to make your occupation mainstream.
