Congrats on passing the exam, mjay. What made you decide to go with that broker? I'm just curious. Anyway, enjoy the forum and I look forward to your contributions.

maui-
I signed with Athens Classic Properties because I felt really comfortable with their training program, the selectivity of their listings, and their reputation in our market. They haven't brought on a new agent in 5 years and I felt like they were extremely confident in my potential and were willing to invest a good deal of time in me.
Its a small brokerage, but thats the kind of environment in which I wanted to be involved. I'm coming from 3.5 years spent at a Fortune 500 Tech company, sitting anomalously in a cubicle... it wasn't anything for me! Within just a week here, I was able to obtain a listing, have had good interest, and worked alongside the broker and associate broker on several deals.
Its been a great experience thus far and I can't wait to make a name for myself in this industry.

Well I hope it's a good fit.
To be honest, not hiring a new agent in 5 years would have sent me right out the door. The market is 100 times different than it was 5 years ago, and I'd worry that maybe they weren't as in touch with the new way of doing business as some other places.
Try to pick up good listings with equity, and buyers who can qualify for loans. Keep working and after 1-2 years you should have some money in the bank to show for your efforts.Steve Howe - REALTOR - RE/MAX Advantage Plus

Congratulations on passing your test! That's great. Good job on getting a listing so fast. Work hard and don't let this market get you down.

Sounds like it has been a great move for you!!
Well done on passing your exam and getting a job so fast. If the company hasn't hired a new agent in 5 years then they must be showing a keen interest in you!
I would recommend to gain as much experience and expertise as you possibly can from these people but you may find they are traditional in their ways compared to newer realators.
