Reasonable expectations
What is a reasonable number of transactions to expect in your first year.

I believe the average agent sells between 2-4 homes per year. Agents in their first year? 1-2?
There are a number of agents that come into the business and do quite well their first year (of course this is a minority). Once you learn the business, you can estimate that per every 20 new people you talk to each day, you will net 20 transactions annually.
The first three to six months is the toughest part...don't expect anything, just talk to as many people as you can, and tell them about your new career.
If you have a good job, however, you may want to stick it out for a while as the market transitions.

Thank You. I was getting a little concerned about what is expected of me being a new agent. Having been in sales for 15+ years I have never gone so long w/o a sale. Just have to keep my nose to the grind stone.

That about somes it up. The key is to talk to as many people as possible everyday. It is truely a numbers game. Also anyone that likes you (friends, family) take them out to lunch and explain that you need their referrals. It is amazing that if you ask for something how many people want to help you.
