    Default This is my moment!!!

Hello, all it appears that things are begining to happen all over this great country of ours, and I now believe that after 5 years of "feeling" that urge to go into real estate, it is now my moment to go for it.

However, after all the research I have conducted there are still alot of questions. I will list them, as ask for honest and supportive feedback:

    1) CA - I am planning on going to a "Seminar" tomorrow evening (Tues) to hear about how I can pursue this career with London Properties, I would assume as the brokerage firm.
Question: Is this the right step to take? Anything in particular I should know or be aware of?

    2) It's my understanding that you can take the courses that you need to get your license, either at a certified brokerage or online, but that you also have to take a 3rd course that maybe provided at a coummity college?
Question: Should I complete these prior to taking the examination/license

Question: Once I get my license/pass exam, is it necessary to spend alot of money on website(s) joining mememberships etc?

Question: Is this the perfect time for me to starting getting educated in Real Estate, and get my license since things are a bit slow?

Question: Is Real Estate something I can do on a part-time basis to start? I am recently married, mother of (2) and full-time employee.

Thank you all so much! Last question, should I develop a relationship with an agent while I am in the "learning stage?"

    Layne,

I think you know the answers to most of these questions. You just have to listen to yourself.

On the part-time deal: if you do it part-time, expect part-time results. Maybe 4-8 closings a year?

If you really want to do it, then just do it. You don't have to be a business person or have experience if you just go ahead and start learning and doing the things that more successful agents are doing.

Find a Team, mentor, books, etc. to help you learn.

In MN, we take 3 different 30-hour classes to get licensed and take a Fed exam and State exam. This can be completed within a month or so if your schedule is open.

I suggest researching it, interviewing some teams and brokers, and just going ahead and doing it.

It worked for me, and 14 months since getting licensed I have sold 19 properties. Not bad for a 27 yr old newbie!

    Default Real Estate Agent

Thanks so much for your post. And congratulations to you on this exciting time!!

Yes, I agree with First Time Home Buyers comments....if you work it part time, expect part time results.

If you dive in 100%, the sky is the limit.

The biggest determining factor I have seen between agent who sells 50 homes a year, and one who sells 0.... MOTIVATION!

If an agent has some "zip" in their step to learn the business and work it as hard as they can, they always succeed.

Best of luck to you. I'm sure you'll do great!
