Florida Real Estate exam prep
Hello all,
As you can see, I am a new member here. I am a junior majoring in Building Construction Management at the University of Florida. I am in the process of taking my 63 hour FREC I course (almost finished).
My question is, how difficult is the state exam? I am taking my FREC I course online through Cengage Learning. I know 100% of the material that I have gone over so far. However, the questions seem to be really straight foward (i.e. definitions, legalities, regulations, etc.). Is the state exam presented in the same format? I want to be 110% sure that I pass it the first time. I would really appreciate any suggestions and/or advice that any of you may have. Is there anything else I can or should be doing to prepare?
Thanks in advance for the help,
Kris

I am in NC so our testing will be different. What I can say is that most people around here say that the state exam was much harder than the standard class exam was. In the end, give the exam all the prep time you can give it and you will be fine. Very few people pass without preparation.

State Exam
Hi Kris,
Most course final exams are designed to closely resemble what you can expect from the state exam. Be aware though that you will need to read questions very carefully. Often a question is worded in such a way to where there will appear to be more than one answer, but reading carefully will reveal that only one answer will best fit. The exam is timed, but don't rush.
Many questions you will surely cruise right through and others will take much more time.
They will provide a pencil, paper, and calculator at the testing center.
Overall, if you do very well on your course final exam, then you should have no problem with the state exam.
If you haven't already done so, I would recommend that you now start the process with the state. Florida can take 30 days to approve your application, plus there is the time to fingerprint and schedule your state exam. If you wait till your course is completed, then start the state process, the coursework won't be as fresh in your mind. Generally a person is better off starting the state process while taking the course, so that they are ready to schedule the state exam within days of completing the coursework.
Hope that helps out and best wishes in your new career.

Try the study guide system at realestateexamtutor.com. I used it to pass my broker exam in CA on the first try. They have a pretty good guarantee too.
