commissions from builders
How do you go about talking to a builder for a client?
Generic example. Doctor's office wants to build their own building (currently renting) and they are currently looking for land.
Figures would be something like 300K-700K for land and 1.5m for building. There are a couple of local builders that can handle a project like this. What are the steps to contact builders, get bids, etc.. for the client to take to a lender and move forward.
The land is not in my MLS - so I would just refer them to the listing agent of a land that they like and/or just refer them to a buyer's agent for the land. Right?
And as far as the builder... what would be my first move? how do builder's typically handle commissions, etc?
or is this not common practice for real estate agents (meaning client would contact builder directly)?
TIA for any help!
