Default Going on open house ride along for first time. advice!

I have my 3 real estate courses required to take the state test done and i'm going to take the test once i finish my semester at school so i have time to study.

I'm going to be going to an open house with my friends dad who is a realtor and is going to be getting his brokers liscense soon. Any advice from any pros out there? I've been to a few open houses around my neighborhood in past few years but nothing really like this. He's going to be showing a 3bd 2bth for a span of 3 hrs.

What should i be ready for? what could i do to help him out? and anything i should expect? what should i do/NOT do?

i've been in sales for 5 years so im good with people and currently work at home depot in kitchen design (cabinets, countertops, appliances, etc.)

    Any tips/comments help! thank you!

Well, since you are not licensed yet, you will have to be really careful about what you say to any visitors depending on your states laws...sending invitations, having property flyers, other listings visitors may be interested in can all be good things to be prepared with. You should also have a good idea of all the available houses in the area for sale - a lot of people will stop at an open house but have something else they are looking for. Good luck!

You probably already went but I was going to say that with your knowledge of kitchens that could be a really great way for you to strike up conversations at the open house. People LOVE kitchens and as a realtor that is some great knowledge to have.

How did the open house go anyways?

I remember doing the exact same thing when I first got my license. wow, that was years ago.
