New realtors use this info
You got your license and registered with a broker....what's next?
Many new commers count on business from their friends and families. This will only take you so far...
No matter where your first listing come from; it's not just a listing, it has got much more potential return than the commission you earn when you sell it.
This first listing starts your career. If you give this new listing all your effort and energy, it will deffinitely turn into 10 transaction within a year time.
Don't miss any of these;
- Lawn sign, a must (if a house)
- Conduct open houses as much as you possibly can
- Prepare for open house one week in advance, advertise it ahead of time, let people know that you will have an open house on the weekend.
- Advertise your listing in local paper (costly?)
- Use direction signs leading to your listing address from main roads.
- Advertise online, on your site, and other classifieds websites i.e. craigslist etc.
- drop off a copy of your listing to all the neighbours (since you can't make calls)
- communicate often with your client, don't disappear with the listing agreement.
- forward any feedbacks you have from other agents and buyers...
- chances are you will get referrals from this client even before you sell their home.
- no amount of ads and marketing can compete with referals
- Get Leads and act on it

Leads, Leads, and more Leads.
Get some scripts and advice from other agents, and then go out and get some leads. Don't spend a ton of money, just get names, contact info, and start calling.
Nothing will make you earn more money than having Leads.
You could know the business in and out, but without anyone to do business with, you're just an old Encyclopedia in the Library.Steve Howe - REALTOR - RE/MAX Advantage Plus

Be sure to ask your broker and the other agents in your office to stop by to the open house. It may help sell the property if they have seen it in person and they may have some suggestions and feedback. For example you might use the feedback to pursuade an owner to do some painting, etc.
