An improved MSN?

I don't know what you think but MSN seems to have improved with indexing pages and listing links to your website. I have a new domain that I had not submitted to MSN, and within a week it was indexed, and all of the inner pages were indexed too!

It's not quite starting to perform in MSN, but I need to fire more links to it, which will hopefully help!

What do you think about MSN? Do you think it'll be competition for Google?

I think they will go head to head. MSN seems to love local businesses. MSN is going to advertise their "near you" feature soon on TV. When you type in "web design" for example it will ask you if you want companies in your area.

It will decrease business for a lot of nationwide companies but help people find the best local business out there.

Basically it will be a different group of people frequenting msn than Google and it's yet to be seen what will be preferred.

Without a doubt, the MSN bots are working overtime and the SERPS seem to be putting out some very relevant results.

At least we will be able to make adjustments and see the results relatively fast.

Darren, as long as MSN and Yahoo continue to strive for more relevant results and Google sits on its hands using an outdated algorithm, the #1 SE Position is a wide open race IMHO.

MSN is giving Google a run for their money or should I say Bills money. In real estate at least the results I have seen in MSn are more relevant than those of Google.

MSn seems to focus on onpage factors a little more than Google and also considers the content on those pages. Another interesting point with MSN, you dont see the known spammers and cloakers on MSN that you see all the time on Google. I know we have ask a few consumers about the SEs they use and why and this has been a response we have got.

People are tired of not finding relevant results on Google. I will say that at least within our real estate market Google only has about a 60 percent relevancy ratio VS the 90% MSN has. Also over the last 30 days we have seen a 3 to 1 ratio of traffic coming from Yahoo and MSn verses Google.

I also believe that our conversion rates have been better with MSN and Yahoo than Google as well. As more time goes by MSN and Yahoo are taking more market share from Google and by this time next year, I would bet that MSn owns more market share than Google.

Google is a great SE for researching for Tech information, but MSn and Yahoo are by far better for commercial sites that target consumers for products. IMHO
