Questions about Google, MSN, and Yahoo search rankings
Aloha, why is it that my website shows up as #1 to #6 on Yahoo while I can't even find my website on Google or MSN?? I linked my website with many high ranking websites but that only seem to improve the yahoo ranking.

Jim,
You aren't alone on this one a lot of folks are in search of that answer! Age of site, SEO friendliness a good Linking system etc are all part of the equation!
Read some past threads and you will see you aren't alone!

I had that question as well. I found out the same answer as what the above post. It's really annoying that some search engines give higher ranking for so many different reasons. I just keep trudging through all of them trying to stay on top of promoting the heck out of my site.

yahoo, google and msn are different..so you might be no.1 in yahoo (e.g.)but you can't be no. 1 in google or msn..

Seo
Each search engine is entirely different. What may work for one does not work for another. I would always recommend hiring a top SEO company in your area that can help with this.
Minneapolis real estate, Minneapolis condos, homes - Search homes for sale in Minneapolis. We specialize in buying and selling residential and investment properties.
Search also for Minneapolis lofts at our website.

Different algorithm are use by each search engine. Google gives to your site age points as well as link age points. That is to avoid your search term goes high and eliminate the possibility of linking to many places links that might be deleted soon. Google gives much weight on developing a slow linking campaign. I would recommend you to focus on google and try to do yahoo at the side. But google will deliver you most of the traffic.

I agree Steve80. Google is by far the best SE to optimize your site for. Many SEO companies tell me that 90+ hits will com from Google vs the others. There are sites where you can get the info to optimize for Google. If you need a SEO company, maybe I can offer some suggestions but if you have the time you can do much of it yourself. Content, titles, user friendly, external links, internal links, how fresh your info is, age, and how many sites you are competing with in your market are some of things SE like Google consider. I will track down the Google info and post later. Good luck!

I always notice that when you rank high on a certain search engine, you rank low or other search engine or sometime do not. The best thing to do is to optimize your page for Google - is the king (for now).
